In the mid-20th century, the Ferry Morse Seed Company was the largest seed manufacturer in the world. Their success was due to a culmination of many factors but, one of which was a large seed manufacturing facility located in San Juan Bautista, CA . The facility was ideally positioned in close proximity to the booming economy in San Francisco. At this facility they processed fruit, vegetables, and flower seeds and then shipped out bags of seeds to their packaging plant in Menlo Park. There they would put the seeds into little envelops for consumer sales.
