History

Mare Island Douglas Fir
Mare Island Douglas Fir

Spanning over 5000 acres, MINSY served to build and repair submarines deployed in the Pacific Ocean. Operating during WWI and WWII, the shipyard supported naval tactical efforts that played a vital role protecting United States' interests. After nearly a century and a half of service, MINSY was decommissioned and closed its doors on April 1, 1996. However, if you are looking for beautiful Douglas fir with a naval history as old as the state of California, this wood may be perfect for you!
